It has been discussed which contribution each drug makes to the management of the other risk factors and what treatment regimen each of the speakers would recommend. The importance of optimizing treatment regimens, but also the need for tailored combined strategies to ensure the patient will have the best possible outcome have been highlighted.
As always, the Bayer Cardiovascular Risk Products booth had a continuous stream of visitors. Delegates were drawn in by the latest Adalat/ACTION publications, the Aspirin Women's Health Study booklet and Glucobay papers highlighting acarbose as first-line therapy for type 2 diabetes offering additional benefits in CV risk patients.
